Week 15 12/9 - 12/13 This is Goria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important announcements for this week. Tomorrow, Monday, December 9th, bus 21 will run only in the afternoon. This is a change from the message that went out previously. The 3rd and 4th-grade Choir Club will meet after school on Monday. Parents, please help us ensure that all of the library books are returned to this school this week. Have your students look around to make sure they haven’t left one at home. Wednesday, December 11th we welcome our 3rd and 4th grade parents who have already RSVP for our Christmas meal. For school spirit this Friday, everyone is invited to wear a Christmas or Winter Sweater. Attendance Information: We appreciate everyone’s efforts to avoid taking extra time off leading up to the winter break. As long as your child is healthy, please encourage showing up to class when school is in session. Every day of school is an important opportunity for students to develop personally, socially, and academically. We thank: ● Our students and their families who do their best to show up daily even when it isn’t easy. ● Our teachers who go above and beyond to make school a welcoming and safe place for all students to learn. The 3rd and 4th-grade Choir Club will meet after school on Monday. Our school’s Winter Program the Night Before Christmas will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 pm and Wednesday at 9:00 am. 1st and 2nd grade parents - We are asking that students wear pajamas that are school appropriate and preferably Christmas or Winter in color or design. Please plan for your child to attend both performances as their participation is important for our show to succeed. Thank you for all your help in making this program a success! For students who have signed up for the Good New Club - the Christmas Party will be held on Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30. These permission slips have already been returned. Santa’s Shop will start on Friday, December 6th. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

We are so excited for our Winter Program this year we are going to be telling the story of the Night Before Christmas. For costumes for the program we are asking all students to wear pajamas that are school appropriate and preferably Christmas in color or design. Friday will be IVE Spirit Day - Wear a Hat for $1 This is a reminder, from November 25 - 29th, there will be no school for students. Our Christmas Play will be held on December 3rd at 6:00 pm and December 4th at 9:00 am. We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Parents and Guardians if there is a change in how your student(s) are getting home please call the school by 2:00 pm, so that we can ensure the correct communication takes place. We understand that there are emergencies. Planning in advance ensures our students' safety as they make their way to their afterschool destinations. This is a reminder breakfast and lunch are free for all of our students this year. The 3rd and 4th-grade Choir Club will meet after school on Tuesday. Dress in Camo this Friday to show your Iotla Valley School spirit. Yearbooks are on sale. Information has been sent home, posted in Rooms, and QR codes have been placed on the front and Pre-K doors of our school. A reminder, November 25 - 29 there will be no school for students. Week 12 - 11/4-11/8 This is Goria Painter, the Assistant Principal at Iotla Valley Elementary. I am calling with some important announcements for this week. The 3rd and 4th-grade Choir Club will meet after school on Monday and Tuesday. 4th Grade Data Day will be held on Wednesday at 12:45 pm. Our Veterans Day program will be held on Wednesday at 1:30 in the school gymnasium. Our 3rd and 4th Graders will participate in the NC Check-Ins. Reading will take place on Thursday and Math on Friday. Wear your IVE t-shirts for Spirit Day on Friday. A reminder that Monday is the Veterans Day Holiday. There will be no school. Attendance Information: One way to help your student with their attendance is to try to schedule non-urgent related medical appointments and extended trips when school isn’t in session.
